Is it available now?
Yes — Household Pet is live on the App Store in Australia for iPhone and iPad (requires iOS 16.4 or later), on Google Play for Android, and on the Mac App Store for Apple-silicon Macs.
Is it free?
Yes — the free plan covers one pet with a full health log, reminders and co-owner sharing. Household Pet Plus ($3.99/month or $39.99/year with a 7-day free trial) unlocks unlimited pets, the AI symptom assistant and PDF vet reports.
Is the AI a vet?
No. The AI assistant gives general information based on what you tell it about your pet. It is not a substitute for a registered veterinarian. If you are worried, please call your vet.
Where does my pet's data live?
In data centres in Sydney, Australia. We don't sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to train AI. You can download every record we have about you, or delete your account from inside the app — every row is wiped within 14 days. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
Does Plus work with Apple Family Sharing?
Yes — Household Pet Plus supports Apple Family Sharing, so one subscription can cover your family group. The purchaser turns it on under Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions → Household Pet Plus → Share with Family. It can take up to an hour for Apple to extend it to family members; if it does not appear, tap Restore Purchases in the app’s Subscription screen.
Can my whole family use it for one pet?
Yes — that is the point of household sharing. The owner sends an invite by email; each person gets the same record, reminders and activity feed on their own phone, and can log walks, meals and health events themselves. Up to 10 people per pet, and access can be revoked any time. Co-owner sharing is free on every plan.
Which animals can I add?
Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, ferrets, reptiles, horses and cattle are supported. Horses and cattle get health records, reminders and shared care, with names that reflect their age and sex, such as foal, mare or gelding. Horses keep a microchip field; cattle have a separate label for their tag number. You can log vaccinations and set your own reminders for both; automatic vaccination schedules are not included for horses or cattle.
Can I type things in on my computer instead of my phone?
Yes. Add a pet from your computer and Add a reminder from your computer are web versions of the app's own forms — fill one in on a keyboard, scan the code it makes with your phone, and the app opens with everything already entered for you to check and save. Nothing is sent to us; the details travel inside the code itself, which is why neither page needs an account. Both can also be handed to you with the answers already filled in, so an AI assistant can prepare one for you to check — what such a link can carry is published at /handoff.json.
Can ChatGPT add a pet reminder for me?
Yes, in two steps. Paste https://au.household.pet/handoff.json into ChatGPT and ask it to follow it, then say what you need to remember — "worm Bowie on 3 November at 9am" — and it hands back a link. Open the link and the reminder is filled in, ready for you to check and save on your phone. It works the same in Claude, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity. Nothing is connected to your account: the assistant only writes a web address, and the reminder exists once you tap save in the app. Add a reminder with ChatGPT walks through it.
I'm a vet — can my clinic use this?
Yes, we're building a free read-only portal for vets to view records that owners explicitly share. A B2B clinic offering with deeper integration follows after the consumer app is established. Email vets@au.household.pet.
