Household Pet

Terms of Use

Effective 16 July 2026. Version 1.1.

These Terms of Use govern your use of Household Pet (“the Services”) operated by TICSI Pty Ltd (ABN 16 600 946 138), trading as Household Pet — “we”, “us” or “our” in this document.

By creating an account, downloading the mobile app, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please stop using the Services.

Quick summary

  1. The AI assistant gives general information, not vet advice. Always call your vet if you're worried.
  2. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google and auto-renew unless you turn auto-renew off at least 24 hours before the next period.
  3. You own the content you put in — we get a limited licence so we can show it to you and to people you share with.
  4. Don't use the Services to abuse anyone, break the law, or attack our systems.
  5. Nothing in these Terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract, and not be barred from using the Services under Australian law. If you are under 16, a parent or guardian must use the Services on your behalf.

2. Your account

You create one account, used across your devices. You are responsible for the security of your account — including your password and any verification codes — and for everything that happens under it. Keep your contact details up to date so reminders and important notices reach you.

If you suspect your account is compromised, change your password immediately and contact us at support@au.household.pet. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if your account is inactive for an extended period (we will give notice before doing so).

3. Subscriptions and payments

Some features require a paid subscription (currently the Plus plan). Plans and prices are shown in the App. Subscriptions are sold through Apple's App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) under their respective terms — we do not receive your payment details.

Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price. To cancel, turn off auto-renew in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings at least 24 hours before the next renewal date. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the current period.

Free trial: If your subscription includes a free trial, it begins when you confirm the purchase. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, it rolls into a paid subscription at the price shown.

Price changes: We will give you at least 30 days' notice of a price increase by email and in the App. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the new price.

Refunds: Refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies. If you need help, contact us at support@au.household.pet and we will do what we can.

Australian Consumer Law: Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under the ACL.

4. The AI symptom assistant — important disclaimer

The AI symptom assistant takes a description of your pet's symptoms and gives general information about possible urgency. It is not veterinary advice. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or treat any condition. No veterinarian reviews your inputs, and using the assistant does not create a veterinarian–client relationship. It is not a substitute for examination by a registered veterinarian.

You agree to:

  • not rely on the AI assistant in place of professional veterinary care;
  • call your vet — or, in an emergency, the nearest 24-hour clinic — whenever you are concerned about your pet's health; and
  • accept that the assistant can be wrong or miss serious conditions, and that we are not liable for outcomes that result from reliance on it (subject to the ACL and section 8 below).

5. Your content

Everything you put into the App about your pet — name, photo, health log entries, AI symptom queries, anything else — is your content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, process, and back up your content solely to provide the Services. We do not use your content for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account.

You confirm that your content does not infringe anyone else's rights and does not contain material we are not permitted to host (see section 6).

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Services to harass, threaten, defame, or harm any person;
  • attempt to access another user's account or pet records;
  • reverse-engineer, copy, modify, or distribute the Services or any part of them, except as Australian law expressly permits;
  • run automated tools, bots, or scrapers against the Services without our written permission;
  • upload malware, viruses, or content intended to disrupt the Services; or
  • upload content you have no right to upload.

If you breach this section we may suspend or close your account immediately, and may report serious matters to the relevant authorities.

7. Service availability

We aim for high availability but the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that they will be uninterrupted or error-free, except to the extent required by the ACL. We may change or remove features (with reasonable notice for material removals) and temporarily suspend the Services for maintenance or upgrades. If a paid feature is permanently removed during your subscription period, we will either replace it with something equivalent or provide a pro-rata refund.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any cause of action arising from the Services, in any 12-month period, is limited to the greater of the subscription fees you paid us in that period or AUD 100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data.

We are specifically not liable for any veterinary outcome that follows from a decision made with the help of (or instead of) the AI symptom assistant.

9. Australian Consumer Law

Our Services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you have under the ACL. Where we can limit our liability for breach of a non-excludable consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to (at our choice) re-supplying the Services or paying the cost of having them re-supplied.

10. Intellectual property

The Services — the App, the Website, the brand, the logos, and all underlying materials — are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Services for their intended purpose. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

11. Third-party services

The Services connect to third-party providers including Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Sentry, and Expo. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for what those third parties do, except to the extent we have contracted them to handle data on our behalf in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Termination

You can stop using the Services at any time by deleting your account from Settings → Privacy & data. We can terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your account is inactive for more than 24 months, or if we discontinue the Services — with reasonable notice unless immediate termination is necessary. Sections that should reasonably survive termination (including sections 5, 8, 9, 10, and 14) do so.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in the App. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. We will not change the price of an existing subscription period — only future renewals.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia. The courts of Victoria have non-exclusive jurisdiction. Before starting any court proceedings, please contact us — most disputes can be resolved by email at support@au.household.pet.
